Well we've been keeping pretty busy and would like to thank all of you for orders! We have a few weddings we're working on, along with getting ready for the Delafield Art Walk in May. We have a lot on our calendar for the next few months so I haven't been to the blog for a few weeks.
The weather has been unbelievably beautiful, so we've been enjoying that! Well I'd better get back to the art studio and get painting!!
Oh, what fun we had on Sunday February 26th at the Cotton Exchange! It was their 2nd annual Wedding Show with vendors local in the surrounding areas. There was a great harpist playing beautiful wedding music the whole time the show was going on, appetizers were served throughout the show, with a roving server with a tray! There was wine tasting and a few gifts from participating vendors were raffled off every half hour to attendees.
We made great new friends amongst the other vendors, it was just a fun day. We would highly recommend attending next year around this same time if you or someone you know is going to be married!
Ah Monday Monday, the weekend is over and here we are well on our way to a beautiful new day. I had a couple of cups of coffee, but need more, I can feel it. The weather is pretty decent outside so I need to get out and get the dogs on their walk this morning.
I started painting bright and early this morning at the dark o'clock time of 5 am. Okay so I did take a couple of breaks here and there and now I need to get back to work. Oh the beauty of working at home!
Well our Packers lost, boo hoo, but they gave us a great year and we are thankful for that! Congratulations go out to our New Miss America...Miss Wisconsin!! YAY
This is going to be a great year for Palette Artworks!! We have collaborated with "The 1 Stop Shoppe" in Waukesha. They are literally a department store for the wedding couple!
A bride and her fiance can stop in and use all of our in house services or just one or a few of the services. Of course our special glasses are on display there, but you can also use the services of our event planner, the sound and lighting professionals, the many great venues including the beautiful "Seven Seas" restaurant, the officiants, cake makers, invitation designers, anything and everything you could want to plan the wedding of your dreams!
You can also see some of our glassware on display, and get more information at the Seven Seas Restaurant. The Seven Seas Restaurant is nestled in the scenic hills of the Kettle Moraine on the East shore of beautiful Lake Nagawicka, located just minutes from Waukesha or Madison’s East Side.
We also just had a great Christmas Season!!
Terry and I would like to thank everyone who purchased some of our creations from us last year, and would like to "toast" with everyone, Have a Great, Prosperous and Healthy New Year!!!
Don't let the Grinch grab your gift, over the next several days, packages will be left on countless porches. You're not the only one who could possibly waiting for that package to arrive, increasingly at this time of years front porch deliveries are a popular area for a thief looking for a quick get away. We sure don't want this to happen to you, you can take steps to protect yourself.
UPS reps say customers can require a package only be delivered if someone signs for it. They also say drivers are trained to leave packages out of sight and where customers prefer them to be.
Here are some good tips you might try:
Try to have someone home when your package arrives. Typically you can check the delivery status via online tracking.
Choose a shipping option that requires a signature for delivery. Waiving that requirement might lessen chances of a successful claim.
Leave a note on the door or contact the delivery service to arrange delivery to a neighbor. If you can't do that, ask that the package be left in a less noticeable spot than the front porch, such as along the side of the house or near the garage.
Consider an alternative to home delivery. Have the package shipped to your office, for instance, or to a stay-at-home friend or relative.
Have the delivery service hold your package. The Postal Service won't leave a package at the door unless requested. The mail carrier will leave an "attempted delivery" notice if the item doesn't fit in the mailbox. FedEx and UPS will also hold packages for pickup, if requested.
If the item is valuable, purchase insurance.
Track the order online and report any missing packages promptly to the merchant, delivery service and police. According to UPS, merchants may provide a replacement item and subsequently file a claim with UPS. If you believe mail was stolen, report it immediately to your local postmaster or nearest postal inspector.
If a package is missing, contact your credit card company to see if you are covered. Some card issuers offer complimentary purchase protection that protects against theft and accidental damage for 90 days from the date of purchase.

Tis the season, although it's not a winter wonderland outside my house today, instead it's pouring rain. It's time to start getting the addresses together for Christmas cards. Who doesn't love to do Christmas cards?!
I actually have a file with address labels made up, of course it's on a different computer, so it's not handy at the moment, but that list really helps me out. I know there have been a few changes this year so I have to ask around to get the changes done.
I will be doing the traditional Christmas card, I found some really neat ones at Tiny Prints and they even have round ones, very cute! I'm going to have to scope out my thousands of pictures I took this year and design a card pronto!
Christmas cookies, love them of course, who doesn't? Hopefully I'll get a few different kinds done, and not eat many myself...ha ha.
I have to make Chex mix, always a favorite around here. Another plus to this favorite treat is there are hardly any calories...okay maybe I might be a little wrong there. I know you're drooling now and thinking, okay where did I put that recipe? So I'll make it nice and handy for you, just in case you should want to add some to your holiday cheer!

Put a spin on your wedding by coming up with a unique theme that is all your own! Every couple has their own wedding theme in mind and it ranges from elegant to casual, destination or outlandish.Let's say for your wedding you've been dreaming of a Victorian-style wedding, and your fiancee has something completely different in mind, you may wish to compromise by having your Victorian wedding, and going with his wedding theme idea for the reception.
WOW did we have fun over the weekend! We were with the 1 Stop Shoppe of Pewaukee at two wedding shows, one in Waukesha and one in Brookfield! It was really fun meeting all the lovely brides, along with families, friends and future spouses. We loved visiting with everyone and we will be doing it again in January at several shows, so be sure and stop by the 1 Stop Shoppe, which features a fabulous group of wedding professionals coming together under one roof, to help make a perfect wedding day for the lucky couple.
Of course once again the brushes will be in our hands today as we need to fill several orders for clients, retail stores, and galleries that feature our glassware. This is one job that is not a job, because we have so much fun!
Should I choose red or white wine glasses?
Wine glasses can generally be divided into red or white varieties. A red wine glass has a much more "fishbowl" globe style bowl, and is meant to be held in the palm of the hands to warm the wine. A white wine glass has a taller slimmer appearance and is meant to be held by the stem to keep the wine cool.
A champagne flute is a much slimmer taller style glass designed to be held by the stem. The narrower opening is designed to minimize the exposed champagne surface area to maintain carbonation longer.
